Sóti Summit Adventures
Sóti Summit offers diverse year-round adventures. The year begins with cross-country ski tours and courses. As winter progresses, backcountry skiing and heli-skiing take center stage, led by certified Icelandic mountain guides through the majestic peaks of northern Tröllaskagi. Hiking Trails in Fljót
The Iceland Touring Association (Ferðafélag Íslands) has mapped out 25 diverse hiking trails across the mountain passes and peaks between Fjallabyggð and Fljót, varying in length and difficulty.
Popular routes near Brúnastaðir include:
Uxaskarð (Fljót → Héðinsfjörður):
Begins at Brúnastaðir and leads over to Héðinsfjörður. A scenic 15 km trail that takes about 6–8 hours to complete.
Botnaleið (Fljót → Siglufjörður):
Starts at the Lambanes–Reykir turnoff. This is an 8 km marked route with 700 meters of elevation gain, taking approximately 3–4 hours, offering beautiful views along the way.
